Through multiple wildfires, floods, a historic drought and a pandemic, Senate Majority Leader Mike McGuire has worked harder, delivered more, and stood strong — for us. And no matter what has been thrown at us here in Marin, we never stopped moving forward. We never gave up and never gave in. We never quit fighting for Marin County and California.
The Golden State is on the move.
California has built the fifth largest economy in the world, we just passed one of the largest middle class tax refund in decades, and we’re tackling some of our toughest challenges.
Working with Governor Newsom and his team, the State Senate and Assembly recently passed some of America’s most aggressive climate legislation, along with a historic $54 billion climate action budget. Mike was one of the lead negotiators on this momentous legislative and budget package, which will help protect the planet for generations to come. That’s why he’s been endorsed by the Sierra Club.
We’re is leading the charge to make our region more fire-safe. We went to the mat and secured funding to double the number of wildfire hand crews in Marin County and we’ve secured millions to expand fire services and fire prevention projects throughout the North Bay.
We’re working day and night to build permanent homeless housing to get folks off the street and connected to addiction and mental health services. This includes $50 million secured just for Marin communities to combat the homelessness crisis in the last three years.
After years of inaction, we’re implementing the plan to fix Highway 37 once and for all and we’re investing record funding to ease congestion on the Highway 101 corridor.
We’re making health care more accessible and affordable. And, we’ve fought to increase public education funding to record levels.
MIke knows we've got a lot of work ahead of us.
